An accomplished entertainment executive with many years of experience, Marc Shmuger, alongside his wife Louise Hamagami, contributes to the efforts of A Place Called Home (APCH). With help from supporters like Marc Shmuger and Louise Hamagami, APCH offers important community services for children living in South Central Los Angeles. In particular, the organization sets out to empower children to take control over the direction of their lives and become productive citizens.
To achieve its mission, APCH sponsors an array of educational services through its Gailhac Learning Program, which attempts to help at least 85 percent of participants reach their next grade level or graduate from high school. In addition to providing valuable educational resources for LA students of all ages, the program creates a healthy and encouraging environment for academic achievement. APCH also provides tutoring services at its learning center, adult educational services at its Alternative Education Work Center, and computer education courses for people of all ages.
